Partners in Technology 2008 - Travel Information

Virginia Beach, VA - September 15-18, 2008

Please follow the directions listed here and let the Embassy know if you have any questions. It is essential that you make the arrangements as indicated below, in order to ensure your participation in all elements of the agenda.

Air Travel

There are two different airports in the Virginia Beach area that travellers can use:

• Norfolk International Airport (ORF) is closest to the conference venue, about 18 miles;
• Newport News / Williamsburg International Airport (PHF) is located about 44 miles from the conference venue.

We recommend that you arrive in the Virginia Beach area by the morning of Monday, September 15. We recommend that you schedule your departure flight for Thursday, September 18, during the afternoon or later.

Hotel Accommodations

Participants are responsible for making their own hotel reservations. The Doubletree Hotel it is the closest hotel to the conference venue however, rooms are being held at each location under 'MODSIM'.

We recommend placing your booking soon as availability is limited and cancellations can be made without penalty as long as sufficient notice is given.

Individual Reservations Required: Participants are responsible for their room, tax and incidental expenses. Make your reservation by calling any of the above numbers before each hotel's cut-off date. To ensure the above rate, your room must be reserved under the 'MODSIM World Conference' room block. All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card.
