Partners in Health Information Technology 2008

Washington, D.C. - March 25-27, 2008

Introduction

Welcome to Partners in Health IT 2008!

Building on the success of our Partners in Health IT 2006 mission, we are pleased to announce a return 3-day mission to the greater Washington region, this year to include a day of site visits and networking in the city of Baltimore - one of the most important locations in the country for medical research and advances in the delivery of healthcare.

Partners in Health IT 2008 will be centered on relationship building. This Business Development mission organized by the Canadian Embassy in Washington D.C., is designed to help Canadian technology companies develop strategic partnerships for their products and services through a three day program of presentations, match-making meetings, briefings, site visits and networking opportunities with key systems integrators and health care organizations in the U.S. mid-Atlantic market. Over the course of this 3 day program, you will:

  • Sit down in pre-scheduled 30-40 minute meetings with prospective U.S. industry partners (recruited by a well-connected U.S. Health IT consultant) who have agreed to meet you, based on the core offerings and business strategy outlined in your company profile. The profile template will be provided by the Embassy. You will be guaranteed 3-5 meetings in this format.
  • Visit local hospitals and the offices of key industry and government players in Health IT; hear what projects they are working on and where to target your technology for future alliances;
  • Meet the people responsible for finding sub-contractors for some of the largest government contracts awarded in the U.S.;
  • Learn which Health IT products and services will be most in demand in 2008.
  • Develop an understanding of how the federal government buys Information Technologies;
  • Visit the headquarters of the largest hospital system in the Baltimore-Washington region, serving more than half-a-million patients annually through its seven hospitals and other healthcare services.
  • Visit the Baltimore headquarters of CMS (Medicare/Medicaid)
  • Meet over 100 U.S. industry and government guests at an Embassy-hosted reception where you will display your products and solutions in a table-top (mini-trade show) format.
